About Ministry of Climate Change
The Ministry of Climate Change (also known as MoCC) is one of the most important ministries of the Government of Pakistan responsible for dealing with the issue of global warming in the country. As a special assistant, adviser, and representative of the Prime Minister, Federal Minister Malik Amin Aslam oversees the Ministry in his capacity as a member of the Cabinet. Additionally, Captain (Retired) Sikander Qayyum is the Secretary of the Ministry of Climate Change, which reports directly to the Federal Minister. There are several agencies attached to this ministry including the Global Change Impact Studies Centre, National Disaster Management Authority, National Institute of Disaster Management, Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency, and Zoological Survey Department. Currently, more than 173 employees (58 officers and 115 staff members) are employed in this ministry under the jurisdiction of the government of Pakistan. The headquarter of MoCC is situated in G-5/2, G-5, Islamabad Capital Territory.
