About National Accountability Bureau

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is a very well-sustained, autonomous and professional department of Pakistan that look after the cases of corruption for the Government of Pakistan. It was formed on November 16, 1999, and for the first few years, they just focus on prosecution and investigation of white-collar crimes and then they started taking the cases of anyone who abuse their power in any way. The department is responsible to eradicate the acts of corruption and to carry out economic intelligence valuation against economic crimes. They have an approach to perform their operations that includes prevention, awareness, and enforcement. They are working according to the National Accountability Ordinance of 1999 and they have a headquarter in Islamabad with seven additional regional offices in Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur. The NAB has given authority to undertake necessary steps in order to enforce law and order situations against financial crimes and economic terrorism.
