Public Service Commission is a state-level government agency responsible for establishing an equitable and transparent hiring process that aims to fill positions in civil service departments at the state level. The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) plays an important role in the federal government as one of the main agencies responsible for making sure federal workers are chosen based on their qualifications. The FPSC is an independent federal agency that is governed by the federal government in comparison to the five service commissions currently governed by provincial legislation.
